Telford sets new standards........
Dirt Bike Expo made its debut at the Telford International Centre late last week and was instantly declared ‘a great success’ by both the industry and the public alike. Covering 10,300m2 over three permanent halls Dirt Bike Expo immediately also became the biggest show of its kind to date ever to be held in the UK.
“ I have been going to off road shows for the last 10 years, but this is definitely the best yet. The venue is so easy to get to and find, the car parking is simply brilliant and the building itself is absolutely fantastic. I really enjoyed the layout of the show, there was plenty of room to move about and to see and buy what I wanted to. The live entertainment both on the stage and in the live arena was the icing on the cake for me. I couldn’t fault my day, and will certainly be returning next year.” - Thomas Ryan - North Yorks.
Just under ten thousand visitors were treated to a rich mixture of 05 bikes from the likes of Yamaha, KTM, Gas Gas, Beta to mention but a few, alongside this brands such as Sinisalo, O’Neal, OnFire and more showed their 05 clothing ranges, whilst there were bargains galore to be found in the extensive retail zone.
“ With the show being at a new place, we were not too sure what to expect. I have come with a few friends today, and we have all been very impressed with what is on offer here. This is a great advert for off road motorcycling and certainly gives the sport a very professional shop window. The highlight of our day was the live action arena, it may have been another £2.00 extra to watch the show, but in real terms it was worthy an extra £20.00 at least.” - Martin Hodge - Surrey
World MX star Stephen Sword and World Superbike rider Chris Walker headlined a whole host of celebrities who joined Jack Burnicle on the DBR stage over the four show days, however it was the Dirt Bike Expo girls and their hotter than ever fashion show that drew the largest crowds in this area.
Through in the live arena Steve ‘showtime’ Colley proved to be the main attraction with some ‘smoking’ performances on his one wheel Gas Gas, although multi World enduro champion Paul Edmondson and plenty of mini bike mayhem meant that he was joined by an outstanding supporting cast.
